Frequently Asked Questions

Find quick answers about RecoveryRoute, treatment program listings, bookings, deposits, privacy, and provider accounts.

What is RecoveryRoute?

RecoveryRoute is a platform that helps people compare and connect with addiction treatment and recovery programs. Our goal is to make it easier to understand your options, compare programs, and take the next step with a treatment provider that fits your needs.

Does RecoveryRoute provide treatment directly?

No. RecoveryRoute is not a treatment centre and does not provide medical care, counselling, detox, diagnosis, or emergency support. We help people discover and connect with independent treatment providers.

Are the programs on RecoveryRoute verified?

We aim to list real treatment providers with clear program information. However, each provider is responsible for the accuracy of their own listing, pricing, availability, services, and admission requirements. You should always confirm final details directly with the provider before committing to treatment.

How do I choose the right program?

The right program depends on your needs, budget, location, substance use history, mental health needs, preferred language, length of stay, and comfort level. RecoveryRoute helps you compare these details side by side so you can narrow down your options before contacting a provider.

Can I search by substance or concern?

Yes. Programs may list the substances or concerns they support, such as alcohol, cocaine, fentanyl, prescription drugs, gambling, or other dependencies. Some programs may also support clients with trauma, depression, anxiety, PTSD, or other mental health concerns.

Can I filter programs by language?

Yes. Programs can indicate the languages they offer services in, such as English, French, Spanish, or others where available.

Do programs include detox?

Some programs may offer detox support, while others may require detox to be completed before admission. Always confirm this directly with the provider, especially if you may require medical withdrawal support.

What if I am not sure what level of care I need?

RecoveryRoute can help you compare options, but it cannot assess your medical or clinical needs. If you are unsure, contact the treatment provider directly or speak with a qualified healthcare professional.

How does booking through RecoveryRoute work?

When you decide to move forward with a listed program, you may be asked to place a small deposit through RecoveryRoute. After that, we help connect you with the provider so they can finalize intake, admission details, and next steps.

Is the deposit the full cost of treatment?

No. The deposit is only a small portion of the total program cost. The remaining balance is paid directly to the treatment provider according to their payment policies.

Does the deposit reduce the amount I pay the treatment centre?

Yes. If you proceed with treatment, the provider should apply the deposit toward your total cost, meaning you pay the remaining balance directly to the centre.

Can I get my deposit back if I cancel?

In many cases, you may be eligible for a refund if you cancel through RecoveryRoute within the allowed cancellation window, such as within 48 hours of booking. The exact refund terms may depend on the program and booking conditions shown at the time of booking.

What happens if I arrive at treatment and leave early?

If you check in and then leave treatment early, the deposit is generally not refunded. The provider's own refund and payment policies may also apply to any amount paid directly to them.

Are the prices listed on RecoveryRoute final?

Listed prices are meant to help you compare programs, but final pricing should always be confirmed directly with the provider. Prices may vary based on room type, program length, clinical needs, taxes, payment plans, or availability.

Can RecoveryRoute estimate travel costs?

RecoveryRoute may provide travel-related estimates, such as approximate distance, driving time, or travel costs based on your location and the provider's location. These are estimates only and may not reflect real-time fuel prices, flight prices, traffic, or other travel expenses.

What information does RecoveryRoute collect?

RecoveryRoute may collect basic information needed to help connect you with a provider, such as your name, email address, phone number, location or travel details, and booking information.

Is my information shared with treatment providers?

If you choose to contact or book with a provider, we may share the information needed for that provider to follow up with you and process your inquiry or booking.

Is my information sold?

No. RecoveryRoute does not sell personal information to advertisers or unrelated third parties.

How can my treatment centre list on RecoveryRoute?

Providers can create an account and submit their centre or program information for review. Once approved, their programs may appear on the public site.

Can providers edit their listings?

Yes. Approved providers can manage their centre profile, program details, pricing, photos, amenities, services, and availability through their provider dashboard.

Is RecoveryRoute for emergencies?

No. RecoveryRoute is not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call emergency services right away. In Canada, call 911 for emergencies.

Can RecoveryRoute give medical advice?

No. RecoveryRoute does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, detox instructions, or treatment recommendations. Treatment decisions should be made with qualified professionals.
