About the Program

This 90-day residential treatment program provides comprehensive, structured support for individuals seeking recovery from substance use disorder, including alcohol and drug addiction. The longer residential format gives residents more time to stabilize, understand the factors contributing to their substance use, and build practical skills and routines that can support long-term recovery. Residents participate in a multidisciplinary program that combines individual counselling, group therapy, recovery education, and a range of therapeutic groups. These include cognitive-behavioural and problem-solving groups, which help residents recognize unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviour and practice healthier responses, as well as interpersonal therapy focused on improving relationships, communication, and emotional expression. The program is abstinence-based and incorporates the Minnesota Model, an approach that combines professional treatment with peer support, recovery education, personal responsibility, and participation in 12-step programs. Group therapy is an important part of the program, giving residents opportunities to connect with others facing similar challenges, receive feedback, and develop a stronger sense of community. Individual psychotherapy is also available to help residents explore personal issues and underlying factors connected to addiction in a more private setting. For those who require it, detox support is provided during the withdrawal stage before residents move into the deeper therapeutic work of treatment. The program also incorporates art therapy, cinema therapy, therapeutic yoga, mindfulness, recreation, and physical fitness. Together, these activities support emotional expression, stress management, physical well-being, and the development of healthier coping strategies.

Highlighted Features

Resident-to-Therapist Ratio
A lower resident-to-therapist ratio allows our residents to receive more individualized attention throughout treatment. With fewer residents assigned to each therapist, clinicians can spend more time understanding each resident’s needs, progress, challenges, and recovery goals. This can support stronger therapeutic relationships, more personalized treatment planning, and greater continuity of care, while giving residents more opportunities to raise concerns and work through issues as they arise.
Comfortable, Home-Like Environment
Our residential program is housed in a spacious turn-of-the-century home, giving residents a comfortable and welcoming place to focus on recovery. Shared living areas provide room for community and connection, while quieter spaces allow for privacy and individualized care. Residents also have access to amenities such as a gym, garden, swimming pool, and nearby waterfront throughout the program.
Strong Recovery Community
Through ongoing contact with alumni, our residents build relationships with others who understand the realities of recovery at different stages. Graduates remain connected through a two-year weekly aftercare program, giving current and former residents the opportunity to learn from one another
